Pottery Classes

This is offered on the Savista premises itself with a traditional hereditary village potter in attendance. It involves learning the age-old craft using methods that have remained unchanged for centuries.

It is a roughly three-hour class. Those wishing to have this experience would need to book well in advance of their arrival

Yoga Lessons

Whether one is an enthusiastic practitioner or an eager-to-learn entrant, the peace and stillness at Savista offers an excellent environment in which to hone one’s yoga practice. The lawns, amphitheatre, rooftop, sundecks, gym, or indoor lounges all offer a wide choice of location for individual or group lessons/practice. Learners who wish to be put through their paces can book classes in advance.  Savista offers the opportunity to be introduced to simple and joyful methods to de-stress through stretching, yogic postures (asanas), breathing (pranayama), meditation, laughter (hasya yoga) and other relaxation techniques.

Block Printing

Savista offers its guests the unique experience of learning textile hand block printing as taught by the traditional artisans of Bagru who have been practicing their craft in this location for at least 350 years, ever since they migrated here due to an environmental disaster in their previous location (the history of the craft itself goes back several thousands of years to the Indus Valley Civilisation). The quality of the local water, soil and plant resources all had a role to play in the evolution of the craft as it is practised now in Bagru.
Guests opting for this experience will learn to print on cotton fabric, using  hand-carved wooden blocks of their choice, and custom-made vegetable and mineral-based dyes.

Cooking Lessons

This can be done as a two hour cooking class or as one day experience.

In a cooking class, participants typically learn to cook a selection of dishes. The experience of cooking unfolds amidst lively discussions about the condiments and spices, nutrition, and balancing of taste and textures, that go into preparing a tasty Indian vegetarian meal.
