Community Integration
Savista is located in a village with several schools. We have an ongoing relationship with two of these schools, one government-run where children are not charged fees, and the other a modest private school. Our goal is to spark curiosity and imagination in these children, creating a rewarding experience for everyone involved.
We are happy to facilitate interactions between interested guests and students from these schools. These interactions, aimed at children aged 11 to 16, can take many forms based on guests’ interests. Given the region’s limited English skills, activities that transcend language barriers are especially effective. We suggest areas like sports, gymnastics, music, art, or crafts.

“A True Example Of Hospitality, Peace & Relaxation In India”
My sister and I just stayed three nights at the hidden gem that is Savista Retreat. It was such an amazing few days! Particularly how lovely all the staff were, they really touched us with how sincere and kind they are. Savista is a drive from Jaipur, and we did a daytrip in one day, chose to visit the block printer in a nearby village another day, and also fed the orphan cows in the village. We really appreciated the peaceful surroundings and of course incredible food!! (Guest, Australia Oct,2023)

“This Eggplant Dish Inspired My Best Vacation Decision Ever”
Heritage inns like Savista exist throughout India; often they’re family estates converted for hospitality. We had chosen Savista for its rustic elegant décor and its emphasis on local food. Some haveli have a bit of Disney-India to them, big on touristy entertainment, where you can play Raja. In contrast, Savista is more an oasis for contemplation, with gardens for wandering, surrounded by farmlands and a bird sanctuary.…There, under the stars and moon, we were fed a meal cooked with an equal measure of enchantment and restraint. Instead of heady curries, there were warmly spiced lentils and vegetables. I remember the baby eggplants, their silky interiors fragrant with turmeric, cumin, coriander and mustard seeds. We swirled hot roti in thick, creamy yogurt. It was the perfect bookend to our sunrise at the Taj Mahal. And it was the most romantic meal I think I’ve ever had. Ever since that trip, I’ve made several attempts to duplicate the magical eggplant dish with little success. So, I finally asked our hosts for the recipe.…When we woke up the next morning at Savista, we were so beguiled by our tranquil setting that we decided to abandon Jaipur and just stay put for the next few days. The city would still be there next year and the year after that. Weren’t we on vacation? Weren’t we there to relax and slow down? I’m a restless traveler who prefers adventure to lounging, but I’ve never regretted this retreat. I’ll get to Jaipur someday.

“Gulf Getaways: Savista Retreat”
What sets Savista apart from other hotels in Rajasthan is that it is not just a hotel but a passion project, founded on the vision and ideals of sustainability, oneness with nature and giving back to the local community. The retreat is owned by a delightful retired couple called Bhanwar and Radhika, who worked for years in the development sector in Mumbai and the UK. After retiring, they moved back to Bhanwar’s ancestral home in Rajasthan and, with the help of local masons, slowly created and renovated what is now Savista Retreat…Unlike the clash of colour and noise that famously prevails in India, Savista’s interiors are beautifully minimalist, with just a splash of colour here and there or an old bookcase or golden shisha pipe adding life and character to an otherwise quiet room.…The owners have invested heavily in their staff, who are well cared for, trained and encouraged to be autonomous, and they are known in the local community for their belief in supporting women and girls But the best of Savista Retreat is undeniably outdoors. The roof terrace, with a view of the clear blue pool and the surrounding countryside, makes for the perfect place for sundowners. The grounds extend for about a kilometre, within which are tennis courts, large lawns, and the beginnings of a new forest. You can enjoy an outdoor massage and an open-air shower to relax after taking a bike ride in the grounds and surrounding countryside. With flowers everywhere you look and 80 variety of birds flying about the grounds, at Savista you feel as if you are really connecting with nature.

Savista grows all of its own vegetables and grain, and everything is free from chemical fertilisers and pesticides, making the delicious three-course, home-cooked meals here a nightly treat to remember.
“Behold The Indian Pastoral”
Acres of wheat fields, twittering birds, gardens, and hammocks swinging from shady fruit trees... then the old house itself, elegantly light and cooled by the breeze. Savista has its own adventurous storyline: 300 years ago, the heir to the Kacchawa throne ran away to set up his own kingdom here. Performances are encouraged, often musical with so many instruments to hand, and held on the amphitheatre steps. Old, rescued artefacts account for much of the furniture, while uncluttered bedrooms - Jasmine, Lapis Lazuli - are named according to their colours. A well-stocked gym and library stretch different muscle groups before a candlelit dinner (of your request) in the environmentally conscious, encouraging guests to share a car (which they will provide with company of your wonderful, warm, cultured hosts. Each of its 16 rooms is individually dressed and draws inspiration from all aspects of Mother Nature. Even the water in the swimming pool serves as an irrigation source when it is refilled. For those who want to draw out their inner green child, the haveli offers guided hikes and bird-watching opportunities. Editor’s note: Savista also offers green honeymoon holidays.
Relaxation, rejuvenation and inspiration !
I returned to Savista for the third time on my own after a break of 7 years. I have been dying to go back ever since my last trip in 2017 when I also visited alone. My first visit being in 2017 too with my 8 year old and friends.
A splendid and memorable experience!
Savista is indeed a retreat! I spent a week here and it was hard to say goodbye to Bhanwar, the owner and his charming, devoted staff. My rooms were beautiful and stylish, each farm to table meal was thoughtfully prepared, divine and fresh salad from the garden!
A magical place
We went to stay at Savista for our honeymoon. Originally we had planned to go three years ago, booking the trip and then Covid happened a week later.
Thank goodness we stuck to our plans and finally made it!
Amazing stay in beautiful hotel with lovely exceptional service
Savista is a lovely retreat and an excellent escape from the outside world, don't expect high speed internet but expect to be able to truly relax by the pool, in a hammock, on your balcony or in the grounds if that is what your looking for then this is the place for that 100%
Serenity and Serendipity
Staying at Savista is akin to a homecoming, even if one is not from the peaceful outskirts of Jaipur, where it awaits discovery like a jewel. We were treated like long lost relatives, looked after and taken care of like family by our lovely hosts with the support of warm, diligent staff. The hotel staff did not speak English, but were always cheerfully and kindly attentive--they were obviously treated very well by the owners, who have done an amazing job of creating an enlightened oasis amidst the tensions of modern life and a modernizing India. At Savista, everything felt very intentional, from their employment policies to the sophisticated interior design to the farm-to-table dinner menus. It was a perfect home base from which to explore the Jaipur area, but the impromptu conversations with our hosts soon became the highlight of our stay. I came to Savista looking for a little luxurious respite and found much more--a genuine connection to the surrounding land and the wonderful people who live and work there. I can't recommend it enough and I hope to be back again and again.
A splendid and memorable experience!
Savista is a traditional Jaiput countryside estate, inherited by the present owner from generations before him. It is a beautiful place, offering a peaceful vacation with countryside walks, bird watching in the garden, swimming in the pool and wide views from the roof terrace over the rural landscape. Added to this is the luxury of drinking pure well water from the tap and eat an ecological vegetarian menu prepared from home grown vegetables and fruits. Spacious rooms for guests, tastefully furnished in a Rajasthani fashion, each with fully equipped bathrooms.
The hotel owner and his wife both have a wealth of knowledge about Indian history and culture and of the development of India today. They generously share their knowledge with interested guests and you can also use their large library and collection of classical Indian music. This is something you don’t normally expect to find at a hotel, it is worth a lot.
Today, as Jaipur is growing, Savista is getting closer to the expanding habitat, enterprises and resorts of various kinds. This could be seen as threatening the peace. But with its well protected 14 acres of land, old and newly planted trees, food crops and seasonal flowers, the relative calm and unpolluted environment of Savista becomes an even greater asset compared to the city.
p.s. also read the Savista blog, guests reviews.
Savista is situated about 20 kilometers from Jaipur, 20 minutes’ drive by taxi.
Authentic experience in Rajasthan
My stay at Savista for five nights was one of the highlights of my travels through India, and a wonderful way to end two months of travel through Asia. Staying at Savista is like being welcomed into the home of old friends, and gives the opportunity to connect with other guests, the owners and the staff (if you would like) or sit quietly on the property enjoying the beautiful grounds and countryside away from the noise of the city. The rooms are spacious, clean and thoughtfully decorated with individual sundecks overlooking the pool, and the dinners were the best I ate while in India, made from the owner's handed-down family recipes. The owners are lovely and engaging, and will help plan your stay in the Jaipur area depending on your interests. The property is located approximately 45 minutes from Jaipur, so travel times should be considered when planning your time there, as this adds considerable time in the car when going into the city for the day. It should also be noted that this is not a traditional hotel --- it is a private property which offers warm, hospitable and welcoming service, but you should not expect a tv in every room as in a traditional box hotel, which for me was part of the charm and appeal. A truly unique, relaxing experience in the Rajasthan countryside.
Savista Resort is a dream destination
We spent 2 whole weeks submersed in the tranquillity of this idyllic resort. If you are looking for a big chain hotel with uniformed staff and buzzing nightlife then look elsewhere. If you want to soak up the relaxed atmosphere in beautifully maintained gardens, staff who could not do more for you and the most amazing and original Indian (healthy!) food you will find then this is for you.
All staff here are local people employed not for their hospitality backgrounds but for the sustainability of the local community. They are there to help but equally they will be very happy to leave you to doze quietly in a hammock or read a book by the pool.
Every room is individual and carefully fitted out with everything you need. The rooms are cleaned every day. Just as an illustration to the attention to detail, you are provided with slippers to wear in the room and leave you 'day' shoes outside the room.
The food is prepared on site and made with wholesome and natural ingredients. In the two weeks we were there we had a different meal chosen and prepared for us (obviously they will accommodate any dietary requirements). All dishes are carefully spiced (nothing was ever too spicy) and the variety amazed us...... so much so we have continued to cook and eat similar food since returning.
Jaipur is a typically busy bustling Indian city and Savista brings a welcome rest from the manic noise of the city. Whilst a good 30 minute taxi ride fares are cheap and we often just hired a driver, arranged by Savista, for the day.
The best suggestion we could make to people planning a visit - go with the flow., The staff are such easy going friendly people and they will help you arrange whatever you need.
A great way to start a first trip to India
My wife and I took our first trip to India in January of 2019 and made the fortuitous decision to begin at Savista. When we arrived we found a beautiful old haveli in a bucolic setting, complete with sheep grazing in the field. We were greeted by our host, Bhanwar Rishyasringa, and his assistant, one of the lovely Rajasthani women working there. We could immediately tell that staying at Savista would be more like staying in a home than staying in a hotel. Bhanwar is charming, erudite, and sophisticated, and we enjoyed talking with him enormously as he enlightened us about the area and India. The staff was friendly and helpful, and it was a particular pleasure to see the women floating through the grounds in their vibrantly-colored saris. Our room was comfortable, with thoughtful touches that included hot water bottles in the bed each night to ward off the January chill. We were served breakfast outside and delicious dinners – which particularly favored South Indian cuisine - in a converted stable before a roaring fire. Bhanwar arranged for an excellent driver and helped us plan our excursions into Jaipur and the surrounding area. When my wife made an eating mistake in Jaipur and became ill, everyone at Savista was sympathetic and provided the care that helped her recover quickly. Bhanwar could not have been more gracious, and we were only sorry that we were unable to meet his wife, who was away. We could not recommend Savista more highly for travelers looking for a place of serenity and authenticity amidst the intensity of India.
Best Lunch In India Ever
My mom and I visited Savista for lunch after a day touring in Bagru. We were met by the retreats owner, Bhanwar, who showed us around his incredible property. We loved hearing the history of the area and we both could have happily stayed for hours listening to his stories.
We were served lunch outside in a charming garden patio surrounded by fields and silence. The food was all freshly prepared using much of the produce grown on the land. It was absolutely superb.
I can not recommend Savista highly enough - both as a haven to go and stay and as a magical destination to escape the city and enjoy a most delicious meal.
I will most certainly be back...
Restful, Reinvigorating.
I spent a wonderful 4 nights at Savista, enveloped in the hospitality of the hosts and staff, eating the most amazing vegetarian dinners, seeing the sites (and jewelry shops!) in Jaipur, and reading and writing in this beautiful and calming heritage hotel. I already long for a return visit with friends and family this time! Savista is outside Jaipur - but very easy to arrange for a driver for day visits - and offers a glimpse into rural India. The rooms are lovely, clean, spacious and with fans so that air conditioning was unnecessary (but available). Special bonus is the clean water, meaning you can drink from the taps here - no need for bottled water. Savista's hosts offer the right balance of engagement and leaving you to your own devices, and are always available to offer advise or support, as needed.
Slice of paradise
After travelling the golden triangle this eco farm retreat was exactly what we needed. Everything put on our table was harvested from the farm (they even make their own cheese!) and it’s the first time we haven’t had to drink bottled water because the water here is so pure. The owners were so welcoming, making us feel right at home and the staff were always smiling and friendly. Savista you were magic, so peaceful and relaxing. We wish we could stay longer!
A Magical Visit
I can honestly say I have never stayed somewhere as astoundingly wonderful as Savista Reteat. This was a once in a lifetime stay that I will never forget. The property has its own calming, nourishing energy and the retreat owners are some of the most welcoming, warm people I've ever met. I felt at home from the moment a walked on the property. If you are even considering booking Savista, book it NOW! You will be in for a magical time.
